London. 1586-1603. Circular wax and resin medallion, 5 3/4 inches (14.61 cm) in diameter, cast from a matrix created by Nicholas Hilliard. Wax browned, rubbed along the edges. Harp of Ireland on the verso obscured by contemporary manipulation of the wax. Ends of a parchment tag protruding from opposite sides.....
