First edition, ordinary issue. One of five hundred copies printed on paper, in addition to fifty copies on Japan paper. Crane's first trade publication, preceded by the self- published MAGGIE of 1893. This copy bears the tiny binder's stamp of the Boston firm Dudley & Hodge at the lower edge of the front pastedown.
