New York: Privately Printed, 1834. ,-124,,6pp. Large octavo. Disbound, without wrappers. Rather hand-smudged, grubby and soiled, library stamp on title and terminal page, a few pencil notes. Frankly, only a fair, but complete, copy. Item #WRCLIT72164
First edition. Inscribed on the blank preceding the title: "To The New York Socty. Library - with the compliments of the Author." The concluding 6pp. print enthusiastic press notices, as well as a statement by the dedicatee, Lewis Cass -- an early pencil note suggests Cass's comments were actually written by Charles F. Hoffman. The prologue was written by Robert C. Sands, and the Epilogue by Theodore S. Fay. Whether published or "not published," the play saw wide circulation. OCLC/Worldcat locates 38 copies of this edition.
