BLACK HOLLOW; OR, THE DRAGOON'S BRIDE. A TALE OF THE RAMAPO IN 1779.

New York: Beadle and Company, [ 1864]. [5]-100pp. Frontis. Original pictorial orange wrappers. Chipping to spine crudely repaired using pieces from another dime novel's spine, spine tail frayed, minor edge wear, moderate soiling. A bit of staining, but generally clean internally. Good plus. Item #WRCAM56555

An interesting entry in Beadle and Adams' first series of Dime Novels (this is number 69), a genre that they originated and made vastly popular. "The 'Ramapo Brothers,' here introduced, were actually a gang of bandits that infested the country after the Revolution" - Johannsen. JOHANNSEN, BEADLE AND ADAMS I, p.85.
