A rare report for a little-known organization formed in the American capital in 1863 to support "aged or indigent colored women and children." The present work includes the charter, by-laws, a list of officers, the annual report for the organization through 1878, a "Matron's Report," extracts from letters written by children helped by the organization, a list of donations, and a membership listing. OCLC records a smattering of reports from the National Association for the Relief of Destitute Colored Women and Children, but no copies of the present work.
