One of the great early collections of Americana, with an introduction by Henry Harrisse, which describes Mr. Barlow's collecting focus: "...he determined to embrace exclusively the history of America." One of the first great Americana collections. The sale, which contained over 2700 lots, took place on Feb. 3, 1890. This copy contains manuscript annotations of buyers and prices realized fairly consistently throughout.
