San Francisco: C.A. Murdock & Co., 1875. 42pp. Frontis. Original printed wrappers. Wrappers faded at edges, old central fold line. Ownership inscription on front cover. Light tanning. About very good. Item #WRCAM52034
A scarce copy of reports from officers and librarian of the San Francisco Mercantile Library, mainly regarding the cost of completing the library catalogue. Though deemed necessary, the financial outlay required is lamented. "Eight hundred and seven (807) copies have been disposed of, bringing into the treasury $3,000. By its publication the Association is, pecuniarily, still the loser to a considerable amount. In the publication of catalogues this is the universal experience." The failure of the library's lecture series and the need for a classification system are also discussed. OCLC records only one copy of this pamphlet, at the American Antiquarian Society. OCLC 852820705.
