Quarto. Minor wear. Very good plus. Untrimmed. Item #WRCAM51637

Dated January 18, 1792, this deliberation revolves around the establishment of a municipality in each of the fifty-five parishes in the colony. Jean-Jacques Bacon de la Chevalerie, considered to be the promoter of the white separatist movement in Saint Domingue, had been elected president of the colonial assembly. It was he who pushed the case of the "Leopardins" and opposed Mirbeck and the two other commissioners sent by France. An extremely rare Saint Domingue imprint, as the situation there spun out of control. No copies located in OCLC. ROQUINCOURT 4328.
