The rare companion volume to the 1854 first edition, noted as "Second Series" both on the titlepage and spine. This volume is considerably scarcer than the original work, issued in 1854. The larger folding frontispiece map shows the routes of both Cornwallis and Greene in North Carolina. Caruthers' history is considered a standard of Revolutionary War-era North Carolina. HOWES C210.
