"Revised by the Committee of Publication." A tale of Christian conversion in Africa, and of the works of Christian missionaries among Africans. The frontispiece depicts a meeting between Africaner and another African chief. Both of them have been Christianized, though one is dressed in European garb and the other in African clothing. This book went through several printings in the 1820s, '30s, and '40s. The first work includes the "Happy Death of a Madagascar Youth" at the conclusion of the volume. Additionally, the tract "The Orphan" is included here, apparently issued together.
