An early work on navigation by English mathematician and surveyor William Leybourn (1626-1716). Leybourn also wrote a work on surveying and another on the use of sundials and astrolabes. This is by far his rarest work, with no copies appearing in auction records; it was published the same years as his work on dialling. ESTC records only six copies, only three of which are in North America - Harvard, John Carter Brown Library, and UCLA. A rare work in an imperfect copy. ESTC R213612. WING L1925.
