Promoting "the taste for the Fine Arts", this small pamphlet outlines the General Plan of the International Art-Union. In exchange for an annual fee of five dollars, the subscriber received an engraving equal to the value of the subscription as well as the opportunity for an American student to study in Europe for two years, subsidized by the Union. The final two pages advertise the engravings held by the Art-Union. Among those listed under the "Committee of Reference" are Washington Irving and N.P. Ellis.
