A humorous account of the author's tour giving theatrical entertainments mainly in the towns of Canada East and West in 1859-60, on a wager that he could pay his way with his talents. Rhys traveled through Quebec, Montreal, Kingston, Cobourg, Peterborough, Toronto, Belleville, and Niagara in Canada, and through Baltimore, Detroit, New York, and Rhode Island in the United States. One of the tinted plates shows bathers at Newport Beach, Rhode Island, while the colored plate shows an iceberg by moonlight. Rhys performed under the stage name, "Morton Price." HOWES R245.
