A series of documents relating to the capture of the Danish merchant vessel, Heinrich. Earlier, the Heinrich had been captured by a French privateer, but was ultimately "recaptured" by the American brig, Pickering. The Pickering took her prize to the British controlled island of St. Christopher's, where the vice admiralty determined that half the value of the capture belonged to the American crew and half should be restored to the owners. The proprietors then petitioned the United States government on the grounds that it was improper for an American vessel to deposit the matter in the jurisdiction of an uninvolved state. Scarce.
