Later American edition, after the first edition with a different title published in 1847. The author was a chief of the Ojibwa Nation, and herein gives a history of his people, especially their religious beliefs, traditions, and customs. Also his travels to Buffalo, Prairie du Chien, etc. Prints the text of his address before the Pennsylvania legislature in favor of giving Indians a permanent home between Nebraska and Minnesota territories.
