"Father Gafron writes me that he was prevented by circumstances from reading the proof of this work, and that it contains many typographic errors" - Pilling. An errata list would be published in 1884. Father John Gafron was a Prussian-born missionary who worked with the Chippewa in Nebraska before moving to Wisconsin.
