Self-styled fifth American edition taken from the tenth London edition. The work first appeared in 1806. Davis' novel, sometimes attributed to John Moore, was an exceedingly popular work of fiction that contains the rare Indian captivity narrative of a certain Mr. Keith and his wife among the Ohio Indians.
