This promotional tract for the southern states was issued by the St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern Railway Company. Sets forth the agricultural, mineral, manufacturing and commercial advantages of the region, but with special attention on Arkansas. The Arkansas section was written by W.S. Thomas and also partly prints an address by Gov. W.M. Fishback, who declared: "The colored race are found in numbers only in about a third of the State. I traveled last summer 300 miles in the State and did not see half a dozen negroes along the entire route. The race problem is here no longer a problem."
