A scarce American treatise on the Camel, with a focus on the practicality and uses of that animal in the American southwest. Marsh, an eminent lawyer and statesman, served as minister to Turkey under President Taylor and was later made minister to Italy by President Lincoln. He wrote on a wide range of interesting subjects, and was recognized as a sort of universal genius.
