The first voyage describes Cook's explorations of New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, and other islands. The second voyage describes his southern voyages in search of a southern continent. The third is his north Pacific explorations of Alaska, the Northwest Coast, and Hawaii, where the great navigator met his death.
