In 1762 the British succeeded in seizing Havana from the Spanish. Although it was returned the following year in the treaty which ended the Seven Years' War, the Spanish were deeply alarmed at the vulnerability of one of their most important cities in New Spain, and launched a detailed inquiry. This document, evidently extracted from a larger report, consists of the testimony of six naval officials involved in the Spanish defense. Apparently not in Palau.
