Cloth a bit smudged and darkened, endsheets tanned, spine extremities slightly frayed, otherwise about very god. First edition of this children's book little favored by its author. He did not agree to its republication until the New York edition of 1918. This copy bears Hudson's presentation inscription (without recipient): "from W.H. Hudson." PAYNE A25a.
