TRIPTYCH FOR THE LIVING.
Everson, William:

[Oakland]: Seraphim Press, 1951. Quarto. Full goat vellum, ribbon ties. Illustrated with woodcuts by Mary Fabilli. Pastedowns bubbled, as often, else fine. First edition. One of two hundred copies set and printed by hand in American Uncial type on Tovil handmade paper by Everson, although fewer than one hundred copies were bound and the majority of the remaining sheets were destroyed by Everson. Laid in is a half-page a.l., signed as Br. Antoninus, Oakland, 22 October 1951, to the original subscriber: "...Thank you for your order of October 8, which I regret I have been so long in filling. I have had to postpone my binding activity but will resume it now, and dispatch a copy of the book to you in a few days. I remember your coming to my house in 1949, and regret that I could not show you more hospitality that late in the day...may God keep you and bring you all good things...." One of the highpoints of 20th century American fine printing. BARTLETT & CAMPO A11.
