THE LANCE MAGAZINE OF THE NEW LITERATURE.
Lance.

Dayton, OH: The Lance Press, Jan/Feb 1935. II:1. Printed wrappers. Illustrated. Wrappers faintly soiled, but very good. Edited by J.G. Whitaker and Ralf Kircher. A bimonthly, set and printed by hand at the Lance Press, including original wood and lino cuts. The preceding volume consisted of at least five issues, and in spite of a self- congratulatory editorial opening this issue touching on survival during difficult times, and expressing optimism about things forthcoming, publication ceased with II:2. The contributors, apart from Alfred Morang, were chiefly journalists, editors, and working stiffs. OCLC reports only 3 locations (all fragmentary), and Hoffman, et al, were unable to consult issues earlier than Nov/Dec. 1934. HOFFMAN, et al, p.320.
