Edinburgh, UK. Spring 1953 through January 1955. Whole number two (of two) under the first title, and four, six and seven under the latter. Four issues. Typographic and pictorial wrappers. Ink name and a few spots to upper wrapper of #4, otherwise very good or better. Edited initially by Alan Riddell, and beginning with the seventh number by Sydney Goodsir Smith, and by various hands through following years. The first number appeared as a modest 8pp. flyer, issued at the 1952 Edinburgh Festival, on the occasion of MacDiarmid's 60th birthday. Initially founded to publish "the best poetry of whatever school we can find in Scotland," and continuing in following decades as "a significant voice on the contemporary Scottish literary scene" - Sullivan, et al.
