No. 1. VIEWS OF PHILADELPHIA.
Childs, C.G.:

Philadelphia. 1827. Four text leaves, four engraved views. Slip announcing forthcoming engraved title page tipped in. Original printed wrappers. Some chipping to spine and edges. Plates somewhat foxed, but not too bad, tissue guards intact. Overall good. This is the first of six parts issued by Childs. The combined parts were issued in 1830 under a slightly different title. The views show the Schuylkill, the Bank of Pennsylvania, the Deaf and Dumb Institute, and the Orphan's asylum. Nice example of American engraving, here in a large paper copy. HOWES C383.
