This very fine map of Cuba is from Coronelli's ISOLARIO DELL' ATLANTE VENETO, a magnificent atlas of the world's islands. The map captures the long expanse of Cuba, with the island's main towns indicated by pictorial symbols. To the south are numerous islands including the enchanting "Jardin de la Reya" (Gardens of the Queen) and the Cayman Islands, and to the northwest lie the Bahamas. The handsome Baroque title cartouche in the lower-left corner is adorned with allegorical iconography alluding to the great bounty of Cuba.
