Boston: Printed by T. Fleet, for the booksellers, and sold at their shops, 1737 [i.e. 1736]. [16]pp., including a single woodcut anatomical illustration with astrological references on p.[2]. 12mo. Later stitching along spine. Moderately browned, dampstained, and soiled. Edges worn and chipped. First leaf with a few small holes (slight loss of text on p.[2]) and small repairs; upper-outer corner of final leaf torn with slight loss. Contemporary inscriptions on pp.[3 and 5], with some loss due to closely trimmed edges. A good copy. The final almanac issued by Nathan Bowen, who compiled a series of almanacs published in Boston between 1721 and 1736. In addition to the calendar year, this NEW-ENGLAND DIARY: OR, ALMANACK includes predictions for the year's eclipses and a brief report of "some discoveries in the system of the world, made by the great Sir Isaac Newton." This final Bowen almanac is the only almanac in the series to include substantial verses, many of which contains riddles and puzzles, accompanying each monthly calendar. EVANS 3995. DRAKE 3053.
