An amazing American treatise on school architecture, commissioned by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction. The plans and drawings were prepared by Messrs. Sloan & Stewart, architects of Philadelphia. Dozens of engravings illustrate elevations and floor- plans for schoolhouses of various designs.
