Early ownership name on front fly leaf. A remarkably sharp, bright copy. Very fine, with the original binder's ticket ("Hamilton, Binder, Harrisburg") intact. An amazing American treatise on school architecture, commissioned by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction. The plans and drawings were prepared by Messrs. Sloan & Stewart, architects of Philadelphia. Dozens of engravings illustrate elevations and floor- plans for schoolhouses of various designs.
