Chase writes first of estimating costs, then of delays, and finally of completion of the stage scenery work he did for a Mr. Barth, to whom all three of these letters are addressed. Chase, who was based in Philadelphia, specialized in painting panoramas, landscapes and theatrical stage scenery.
