Slight chipping at edge of wrappers. A few tears in folds of map, else in excellent condition. Overall good plus. A report on the history and condition of several tribes visited by Pumphrey in the Indian Territory and Kansas, including the Comanches, Choctaws, Cheyennes, Cherokees, and Creeks. The handsome folding map shows the Indian Territory (Oklahoma without the panhandle), with various Indian tribes noted. The appendix contains a letter from Bishop Whipple on peace with the Sioux, and the text of an interview with J.T. Gilkison, a Canadian Indian Affairs official.
